Review
Edward Cullen and Bellan Swan’s relationship has gone through a lot. Bella accepted Edward as he is and they continued with their star-crossed romantic journey together. But despite of their love for each other, Edward felt that Bella is not safe as long as he is around especially with the last vampire attack which almost killed his beloved.
Bella’s birthday came and the Cullens invited her at their lair to celebrate and open their presents for her. Unfortunately, a paper-cut caused Bella’s blood to drip which resulted to a face-off between Edward and the other members of the family.
Although the decision to leave Bella is very hard for Edward, the Cullens decided to leave the small town of Forks to keep Bella and Edward safe. This became very depressing for Bella as she considers Edward as his life. Because of her deep love for Edward, she tried doing reckless actions realizing that Edward’s image appears during such situations.
Apparently, her determination to become careless and wild resulted to a closer relationship with her best friend, Jacob Black. Jacob became the source of strength of Bella. Aside from that, he also became Bella’s distraction to prevent her from destructing herself because of Edward’s loss. Both of them were already having a great time together and Jacob thought that Bella could already love her more than a friend until Jacob turned into something unexpected, for both him and Bella.
It seems that it is not only the Cullens who have a secret but the family of Jacob as well. When Bella went to the woods and tried to reach their (Edward and hers) favorite spot, she encountered Laurent who is obviously looking for her, thanks to Victoria’s dire need for revenge. Knowing that she can do nothing against Laurent’s grudge, Bella already anticipated her death. But as vampire was about to her, a pack of gigantic wolves appeared and rescued Bella. A couple of these wolves ran after Laurent but one was left and stared at Bella as if the animal knows her.
Eventually, Bella discovered the Jacob’s secrets as well as his tribe. Learning that her best friend is a shape-shifter, Bella did not show any sign of fear. Instead, she made it easier for Jacob as she accepts the latter for who he is.
Bella again became reckless and tried to jump off the cliff just to see if Edward’s image would still appear. Alice Cullen came to Bella’s home foreseeing that she’s in danger. Edward thought that Bella did not survived the fall and thought of killing himself as well. He thought that there is no more reason for him to live.
Bella would then try to save Edward but she has to leave Jacob, who was pleading Bella not to save nor reunite with Edward anymore. Stubborn as she is, Bella still went off with Alice to save Edward from harming himself.
Insisting that she can’t leave without Edward, Bella asked the Cullens if she can also become one of them to prevent her from being vulnerable.
Unknown to Bella, there is a pact between the Cullens and Jacob’s tribe. Bella is now torn between her love for Edward and the treaty of Jacob’s tribe with the Cullens.
