This hilarious precurser to Warner Brothers' Foghorn Leghorn character pits "Allen's Alley" (Fred Allen's radio program) character Senator Beauregard Claghorn against his wife in a race for the Senate. "Nominated" by his party to falsely run against his wife with the purpose of stealing her votes so her opponent will win, he still ends up winning the election, much to the chagrin of the party -- so they kidnap him.
