Megan Fox Will not be Back in Transformers 3
10 June, 2010
The actress Megan Fox will not be back for the third shutter of the Transformers franchise. The studio decided not to renew the option of the actress who incarnated the character of Mikaela Banes in two preceding films. The studio refused to work out on its decision.
Sources close to the production affirm however that the studio and Michael Bay wish to bring the story in another direction and that they envisage to engage another actress to incarnate the new lover of Sam Witwicky incarnated by Shia LaBeouf. The decision not to re-enlist the actress would not be related to the declarations of the latter which had compared Michael Bay with Hitler in an interview granted to a British magazine last September.
Bay will produce the third shutter according to a scenario of Ehren Krueger. The details of the story line remain secret for the moment. The title of work for the film is quite simply Transformers 3.
This third shutter which will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce will be launched on North-American screens on July 1st, 2011. Steven Spielberg acts as associate producer.
Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong recently signed agreements to play in the film. Kevin Dunn and Julie White will be back in the role of the parents of Sam Witwicky.
Transformers is one of the most advantageous franchise for Paramount especially since the studio became the only financier. The first film generated receipts of 709.7 million US$ throughout the world whereas second made still better with receipts of 836.4 million US$ in the world’s box office.
At the beginning, Bay wanted to take a longer pause between the second and the third shutter but he reconsidered his decision in order to respect the bill book of the studio who had envisaged a release at the summer 2011.
As for Megan Fox, she could be seen on June 18th in the film Jonah Hex at the sides of Josh Brolin.
