Mia Wasikowska, discovered by Tim Burton in “Alice in Wonderland” and announced to the star status as “The Kids Are All Right” is these days in Cannes, France, where she promotes her latest film – “Restless”. The next step for Mia is a thriller that starts from a family drama – “Stoker”.

The story is an original, written by Wentworth Miller, star of TV series “Prison Break” and is centered on a girl with a dead father. After his death, the relationship with her mother and with her uncle had a strange dynamic going through unexpected changes. Rumors said that the film would have something to do with the writer about vampires, Bram Soker, but it’s not true.

Mia Wasikowska will have the opportunity to work with two Oscar winners – the Britain Colin Firth and Australian Nicole Kidman. The direction is signed by the creator of the movie “Oldboy”, the Asian Park Chan-wook, which will start with “Stoker” in the English language cinema. Mia Wasikowska is waiting to be directed by Chan-wook. “I think it’s a fantastic director. He has a vision so strong and I think it will turn into a very interesting material. The script is brilliant”, said the young actress at Cannes, cited by Total Film. We are sure that most of the Dracula fans will look at this movie only because it’s named “Stoker” but  as you’ve already know, this movie is not related in any way with the vampires stories.

Filming for “Stoker” will begin this year and the premiere of this dramatic thriller is scheduled for 2012. But don’t worry, until then we will keep you up-to-date with the newest rumors about this movie. Everything you need to know you will learn from us.

The director Tim Burton (whose latest 3D movie Alice in Wonderland reigns on the North American Box Office at the moment) combines his forces with those of the firm Illumination Entertainment (a company owned by Universal Pictures) and of the producer Chris Meledandri to bring back alive the Addams family in a 3D animation movie.

The goal would be to create a 3D cartoon film which will have recourse to the technology of image by image catch of sight, a little like Tim Burton does it at present with Frankenweenie the remake of the short film he directed with Walt Disnery Pictures in 1984.

The rights of the project recently have just been acquired. Its instigators are always in the search of a scenario writer.

According to Deadline New York, this feature film will not have any bond with the 64 episodes American television series that run from 1964 to 1966 or the two films (The Addams Family, released in 1991, and Addams Family Values, a sequel released in 1993). The latter put in particular in very popular Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston.

Tim Burton will see with the visual aspect of film, a work which should point out the original drawings of the American cartoonist Charles Addams.

The director also develops a new version of the series Dark Shadows for the big screen. This one will put in his popular close friend Johnny Depp.
