The final official poster for the animation movie Shrek Forever After distributed by Paramount Pictures has just made its appearance on the Internet.

In Shrek Forever After, the famous ogre named Shrek lost his capacity to fright other people. Instead of frightening the villagers, the latter are all running towards him to require autographs on their forks and their torches. To recover his abilities of ogre, Shrek will conclude a pact with Rumpelstiltskin (to who Walt Dohrn borrows his voice). However, the pact will turn badly. Shrek will be confronted to what the life would be in the land of Far Far Away if he had never existed: Donkey will be found in front on some carriages with a carrot ahead of him, the Puss in Boots will exchange his precious weapon for a pink arc and the underhand Rumpelstiltskin will reign on the land of Far Far Away.

Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Kathy Griffin, Kristin Schaal and Jon Hamm belong to the vocal distribution.

Shrek Forever After should be released in 3D on conventional screens and on IMAX screens on May 21st 2010 in North America.

Sexy Photographs Cause a Controversy around Shrek

Photographs taken for the men magazine VMan showing the characters of Shrek Forever After cause the controversy. In fact, Donkey seems to be implied in a threesome!

Thanks to the magic of data processing, Donkey poses in company of a young woman not very dressed and a male model bare-chested. Some could think that the trio will be devoted to a game of legs in the air!

On other pictures, two young men fight for the Fiona princess while Shrek poses in company of a sexy woman.

The animation films from the Shrek franchise are intended to children before everything. The images in VMan are addressed to adults even if people of all ages can have access to them, points out Fox News.

Sources at DreamWorks said to Fox that they regretted having granted the right to VMan to use their characters in this fashion article for the photographer Ellen von Unwerth.

Even if DreamWorks respects the artistic freedom of the magazine, the pictures would be very different from the original proposal of VMan.

The studio would have refused the participation of the characters if they knew about the particular content of the photo session, said a spokesperson for the firm Paramount, the distributer of DreamWorks films.

I do not believe that Walt Disney would have allowed Snow White and Cinderella to pose for fashion photographs which would let believe that they are on the point of having a threesome; comments the film critic of the New York Post Kyle Smith.

I doubt that these images will corrupt American youth since they are in a fashion magazine which probably does not interest the children. However, we should fire the person that has a so weak comprehension of the Shrek universe that he is ready to betray the family image of the franchise for a not interesting publicity in a vaguely vulgar article, add Smith.

Certain fans of Shrek and fashion however do not see anything evil with the pictures in VMan. The universe of Shrek evolved. it addresses itself to everyone: young and old. Fashion critics besides believe that the photographs are nice and brilliant.

Kevin Polowy, from the Website Moviefone cinema, recalls to Fox that Shrek movies must be understood in several ways. To the first degree, they are addressed to the children first of all. Thanks to many insinuations and jokes with double-direction, they also aim the adults.

This fourth feature film of the series will be presented in premiere on April 21st the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. It will be released in North American rooms on May 21st.
