Clint Eastwood’s recent film, Hereafter, though often referred to as a sci-fi drama, has a lot more important side. It is a forceful character drama highlighting the greatest mystery of life, death. The casting crew of the movie includes Matt Damon, Cecili de France and Bryce Dallas Howard in the leading roles. The unique story of the movie has been penned by Peter Morgan. Client Eastword along with Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz has successfully produced the movie. The entire movie has been distributed by the Warner Bros. Pictures.

Hereafter, offers a multiplicity of viewpoints on the theme: a close death encounter, an enduring grief, as well as a complex “gift.” Client Eastwood delicately handles three different story cords to produce a solemn but powerful film, which achieves a concrete balance in the midst of servicing the film characters plus the filmmaker’s view.

Hereafter revolves round the lives of three individuals, who are disturbed by death in various ways. George, played by Matt Damon, is a plebeian American and possesses a unique link to the Spiritual world. On the contrary, Marie, played by Cecili de France, is a French reporter who experiences a close death, which tends to change her life completely. The third character, known as Marcus, who is an English schoolboy, hysterically searches for answers when the most loved person of his life, died. Each of them in their search for truth bumps into each other. Their lives get completely changed by the mysteries they tend to unearth.

Due credit has to be given to Hereafter cinematographer, Tom Stern for the amazing visual effects, especially the Tsunami sequence. Clint Eastwood has also done a beautiful job as a music director. Even though the film does not include CGI robots and 3D space aliens but it has all the elements that can keep an audience enthralled. The film got released on the 22nd October and till date has made a profit of $28.7 M, and in the last week it made a gross income of $4.2 M.

So, if you really want to watch a film, which is different from the usual sci-fi movies and has a powerful character drama, which straightforwardly deals with one of humankind’s most eternal mysteries, then Hereafter will be the perfect choice for you.

Walt Disney Pictures’ Secretariat is a real life story about a horse, who was not born to be a winner but eventually he turned out to be a champion, and this miracle was actually possible because of the Penny Chenery Tweedy. This brilliantly scripted film, which is superbly shot, is a pleasure to watch. The credit for the film’s success goes to Mike Rich, who has penned the story and Randall Wallace, who is the director of the film.  Without these two guys, the Secretariat’s journey from the novel to the films wouldn’t have been possible. The legendary character of Penny Chenery Tweedy has been enacted by Diane Lane and her husband, Jack Tweedy’s role is played by Dylan Walsh. Dylan Baker plays the role of Hollis Chenery while John Malkovich enacts the role of Lucien Lauren.

Regardless of the title, the movie Secretariat does not entirely revolves around the stallion’s life, but rather around the stallion’s owner, Penny Chenery Tweedy. Penny tends to be a fashionable housewife, and mother of four kids. She has a respectable but an ordinary husband who prefers her to live a life of an ordinary housewife. After her mother expires, Penny was compelled to look after her horse-breeding business, because her father, who was supposed to do it, failed to do so as he was down with Alzheimer’s disease. Penny had to struggle a lot, in the male dominated society, to save her family farm. She along with Lucien Lauren, the horse trainer, turned Secretariat, their favorite stallion into a champion. But, if you want to know whether Secretariat finally manage to win the Triple Crown Trophy and whether Penny was able to save her father’s farm, then you need to watch the movie.

The horse racing scenes has been shot very well by cinematographer, Dean Semler. He along with Kevin O’Connell, the sound recording mixer was able to make the horse racing scenes look absolutely real. Secretariat, which was released on the 8th of October, has till date made gross earnings of $51M and in the last it made a profit of 4M.

So, if you are looking for intense family drama, then you must watch this movie. Secretariat is the story of a housewife, who struggles in the male dominating world to save her family farm.
