Spy thriller “Salt” will continue because Angelina Jolie wants to interpret the new role of Evelyn Go. The new scenario will be written by Kurt Wimmer, which Sony Pictures Studios already hired, according to an announcement sent by Contact Music. Angelina Jolie has expressed her willingness to resume the action heroine role and now she is in negotiations with producers.

“I would like to play in a sequel. You never know if you have the chance to do this if the public will appreciate the film. But there is much to explore in relation to this character with her life, her family, with the way she accepts who she is, at the end. Given how the first movie ended, it could be anybody. It could be in any country and could speak any language. Therefore, we have many possibilities. As an actress and person who love to travel, it would be nice to be able to explore the world with it” said Angelina Jolie.

Evelyn Salt character, CIA operative officer, was first created as man and had to be played by Tom Cruise.  Avoid being captured by CIA officers, the beautiful Evelyn needs to prove her innocence before the world’s most powerful forces that wants to remove all traces of her existence.

Angelina Jolie was very happy that she found the opportunity to personify an action heroine, because in Hollywood these roles are quite rare. The distribution of the first film directed by Phillip Noyce, also includes Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Daniel Olbrychski and Andre Braugher. The thriller “Salt” has grossed 293.5 million dollars.

The actors Paul Bettany (The Da Vinci Code, Inkheart) and Rufus Sewell have just joined the distribution of the thriller The Tourist which also star the beautiful Angelina Jolie and the Johnny Depp.

The German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (The Lives of Others, The Crusader) directs this American remake of the French film Anthony Zimmer. The film is produced by GK Films in partnership with Spyglass Entertainment.

The filming of the motion picture is currently progressing in Venice, Italy. Note that Sony will distribute film.

Julian Fellowes (The Young Victoria) wrote the scenario of the remake which was polished by Christopher McQuarrie and Jeffrey Nachmanoff. Johnny Depp incarnates the role of an American tourist who will be used by a Interpol agent (played by Angelina Jolie) who wants to get rid of a criminal with whom she had a relation.

Yvan Attal and Sophie Marceau played the main roles of original film carried out by Jerome Salle in 2005.

Paul Bettany was seen recently in the films Legion, The Young Victoria and Creation. As for Sewell, he appeared lately in The Illusionist , Paris, je t’aime and Amazing Grace.

The actress Angelina Jolie officially gave up the continuation of Wanted. She is rather in talks, just like the director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream), to develop a film adaptation of Serena: A Novel, a historical novel written by Ron Rash in 2008. Darren Aronofsky will direct the project which will be used as vehicle with the actress.

Serena: A Novel was scripted by Chris Kyle (The Weight of Water, K-19: The Widowmaker). The featured film will be produced by Nick Wechsler (The Road, The Time Traveler’s Wife and Reservation Road).

The history proceeds in the mountains of North Carolina in 1929. Serena: A Novel is the history of a man named George Pemberton and his new wife, Serena, whereas they try to create a forest empire. Serena will push in particular her husband to make acts without remorse. When she learns that she cannot give birth to, she will plan the murder of the illegitimate son of her husband.

In spite of the abandonment of Jolie, the Wanted 2project would not have died according to sources at Universal. Jolie currently films The Tourist to the sides of Johnny EPD. After this project, it does not have anything concrete in front of her. It however is had a presentiment of to incarnate Dr. Kay Scarpatta, a medical examiner, protagonist of the novels by Patricia Cornwell.

As for Darren Aronofsky, he recently completed the filming of Black Swan for Fox Searchlight and Phoenix Pictures.
