How to Train Your Dragon Dethrones Alice in Wonderland in the North American Box-Office

The 3D animation movie How to Train Your Dragon, produced by DreamWorks Animation, has just made its entry in the North-American box-office.

This feature film, which collects 43.3 million dollars $US for its first week pays itself the luxury to relay in the second place the very popular Alice in Wonderland from Tim Burton.

The number one movie in this week box-office is held in a mythical world where a young Viking must capture and overcome a wild dragon. The story is inspired by the book by Cressida Cowell. The vocal distribution is in particular made up of Jay Baruchel (recently seen in She’s Out of My League), America Ferrera (recently seen in Our Family Wedding and the TV series Ugly Betty), Gerald Butler (recently seen in The Bounty Hunter) and Jonah Hill (recently seen in The Invention of Lying).

The beautiful Alice is thus in second position with 17 $US million and should not be ashamed of its 656 $US million collected throughout the world.

The humor movie Hot Tub Time Machine by Steve Pink is a new film which arrives in third position with 13.7 $US million. The story is that of friends who accomplish a time travel and are going back to 1986.

Alice in Wonderland Still on Top of the North-American Box Office

The film by Tim Burton remains at the head of the North-American box-office three weeks after its release on the screens.

This 3D version of the tale written by Lewis Carroll, distributed by Walt Disney, collected 34.5 million $US this weekend.

In particular, the very popular Johnny deep plays the Mat Hatter in this motion picture, Also, Mia Wasikowska, in the skin of Alice, plays in Alice in Wonderland. The latter is now 19 years old and go back in the Wonderland universe, this place in which she had made the discovery when it was only one little girl.

The film carried out 265,8 $US million of profit in Canada and the United States since its release and 565,8 $US million in the world.

In second position, we can find a new release. The movie Diary of a wimpy kid arrives with 21.8 $US million. This feature film is inspired by a series of books for children which tells the adventures of a schoolboy in shift with his comrades.

The Bounty Hunter is also an unseen film which unloads in the third place with 21 $US million. The story is that of a journalist, Jennifer Aniston, who inquires into a murder case.

A new science fiction film with Jude Law seems to have allured the public. Repo Men arrives in fourth position with 6.2 $US million. Debt collectors pursue customers unable to refund the purchase of artificial human organs.

Alice in Wonderland Arrives in First Place of the North-American Box Office

The feature film by Tim Burton arrives at the head of the box office with 116.3 $US million of revenue. It is about the most recent adaptation of the children tale Alice in Wonderland.
